Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins has retained Swanson Communications to manage his public relations and marketing needs for the past decade of his legendary boxing career.

We have obtained world-wide media coverage for Hopkins highlighting his extraordinary showmanship on both sides of the ring and have secured his appearances on BBC World News, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ESPN SportsCenter, ESPN Hollywood and Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show. We have placed feature articles in top national publications including Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, New York Daily News, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Always promoting our clients in innovative ways, we secured Hopkins’ cover appearance on the popular EA SPORTS Fight Night 2 video game, inspiring the Sheraton New Orleans – the site of Hopkins’ training facility for his 2006 bout with Antonio Tarver – to mount a 25’ x 25’ foot cling wrap image of Hopkins at the entrance of their hotel.

We continue to consult Hopkins as he transitions from boxer to businessman, expanding his current role as President of Golden Boy East, a division of Oscar de la Hoya’s boxing promotions firm. In 2006, we managed press operations for a reception in Hopkins’ honor by the City of Philadelphia where Mayor John F. Street recognized his outstanding career. We also handled the launch of Hopkins’ personal charity, “Make a Way Foundation” which aids children’s health and fitness educational programs.
