Swanson Communications has assisted the Recreation Wish List Committee with marketing and public relations efforts since 1998. Located in Ward 8 on Mississippi Avenue DE, Washington D.C., the agency’s public relations and community campaign efforts help the Wish List secure public and private funding that enabled the non-profit organization to build the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center, a tennis and education complex, which has become a model for the nation.

In 2005 the agency coordinated for the fifth straight year, in partnership with the D.C. Recreation Wish List Committee, The Recreation Wish List Charity Golf Event benefiting the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. In addition, Swanson Communications procured sponsorship for this event as well as items of donation for the tournament’s charity silent auction.

The Heart to Hart Tennis Experience, an innovative match-up of adult and youth tennis players, was created in part by Swanson Communications for the D.C. Recreation Wish List Committee as a fundraiser to benefit the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center. Now in its 8th consecutive year, the agency has expanded and managed this local community event that now includes adult and youth scramble tournaments, pro celebrity matches, tennis clinics and prize auctions. Since its inception in 1996, Swanson Communications has raised more than $100,000 for the Heart to Hart Tennis Experience through corporate sponsorship and personal contributions.
