Juan Diaz Houston Chronicle Op-Ed

Swanson Communications placed an op-ed piece written by former Three-time Lightweight World Champion Juan Diaz in the Houston Chronicle on Saturday, July 3 in advance of the Fourth of July holiday.  The piece touches on his feelings regarding immigration, independence, and the American Dream.  The Houston native will face current Unified Lightweight World Champion Juan Manuel Marquez on July 31 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas live on HBO Pay-Per-View.

Swanson Communications Implements First Ever Press Conference Held at Statue of Liberty

Swanson Communications is no stranger to creating and implementing unique press events. In October of 2008 the agency executed a media event unlike any other; holding the first ever press conference at the Statue of Liberty. The event, attended by over 100 media members, kicked off a six-city media tour promoting the “Dream Match” between Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao which took place Saturday, December 6 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. The fight was produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View. With the fight selling out the live gate in hours, making it the second largest gate in boxing history, the event was a monumental sports happening for 2008.

Swanson Communications has been selected by Golden Boy Promotions to manage the overall public relations campaign for the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather mega-fight Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev and live on HBO Pay-Per-View. In addition, the company will handle the individual public relations for Mayweather, who has been a client of the agency for the past two years.
