NEW YORK (October 28, 2016) – Swanson Communications continues to be involved in the biggest events in sports as they have been tapped by Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Pedro Strop to coordinate his public relations efforts during the 2016 World Series.
Strop has enlisted the agency to help raise his profile during the series, which is drawing the highest ratings since 2009.
"We’re so excited to be working with our first Major League Baseball player and what better time to do it than with a player competing in the World Series?” said Kelly Swanson, President of Swanson Communications. “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity and are proud to have been asked to help Pedro in his quest for the recognition he deserves. He's one of the faces of the franchise and beloved in Chicago. With our budding NFL division and the addition of an MLB player to our roster, I feel confident that we’re capable of handling any athlete or event out there.”
The company has already secured radio interviews for Strop with ESPN, FOX Sports and CBS, with more opportunities to come.
The setup man hailing from the Dominican Republic has made one appearance so far in the series, retiring both batters he’s faced, including one by strikeout. Strop and the Cubs return to Chicago tonight to face the Cleveland Indians at 8 p.m. ET from Wrigley Field with the series tied at one game apiece.
