Featured baseball superstar Sammy Sosa partnered with Catholic Charities,
school districts, and recreation departments to contribute toys to more than
5,000 children in five major cities including his homeland of the Dominican Republic.
THE WASHINGTON DC.
"FUNDS FOR GUNS:
This campaign
was a community outreach effort sponsored by the Metropolitan Police
Department, former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe, and Union Temple
Baptist Church.
Our pre-event publicity and radio promotions campaigns ensured the
collection of more than 3,500 guns.
MEDICAL
SUPPLIES TO SOMALIA:
Partnered with AmeriCares, Riddick Bowe donated more than two million
dollars in medical supplies to people in Somalia. This press tour
included stops in South Africa,
Italy, Germany, Spain
and Great Britain.
Pope John Paul II and Nelson Mandela appeared with Bowe on live television.
